Less than two weeks after the emergency door of its MD 83 aircraft fell while taxiing to disembark passengers at the Abuja Airport, Dana Air again last night was involved in a major incident at the Port Harcourt Airport while landing.
Dana Air flight with registration number: 9J0363 which departed Abuja Airport to Port Harcourt Airport, it was gathered overshot the runway due to the wet terrain.
No fewer than 100 passengers were onboard the aircraft as at the time of the incident.
The incident it was gathered occurred around 8:30pm at the airport.
Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, the spokesman for Dana Air, confirmed the incident with our correspondent.
He, however, said that the airline would send a statement on the incident, but was yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
However, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the General Manager, Corporate Communications (FAAN) in a statement said that the incident may have been caused due to a heavy rain, which was accompanied by strong wind and storm in Port Harcourt.
She said that no casualty was recorded, as all passengers on board were safely evacuated.
