Seventeen persons have been confirmed killed in a double suicide bomb attack in Konduga area of Borno State.
The incident which occurred on Friday night also left several others injured.
The authorities said calm had returned to the area with security agencies maintaining surveillance.
Three female suicide bombers were said to have strapped Improvised Explosives Devices to their body and headed for the fish market where they detonated them, and thereby causing the damage.
Apart from the dead, several others were said to be injured.
Meanwhile the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris has visited Zamfara to assess the damage done to the state when some groups attacked each other during the week leaving more than 30 persons dead.
During Idris visit, he promised to arrest the perpetrators of the Zamfara killings and bring them to justice.
