Despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to Plateau State, no less than 24 persons were killed in a night attack on Dundu village of Kwal district in Bassa Local Government area of Plateau State.
Confirming the attack, President of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Sunday Abdu, said suspected Fulani herdsmen swooped on the community Monday night and attacked everything in sight for hours, leaving at least 24 persons dead in the aftermath.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tyopev Terna, who also confirmed the attack, could not give details, but said a deputy commissioner of police from the command had gone to the scene, and shall give details on his return.
Kwal is the village where the headquarters of the Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA) is located.
The police authorities were said to be jittery over the attack following Buhari’s recent visit and charge on them to be on their toes.
