It was a harvest of death at the weekend in parts of the North region of Nigeria as persons suspected to be herdsmen attacked a village in Adamawa killing 18 persons and leaving many others wounded.
Five persons were also killed in Kaduna by suspected insurgents while four died from explosions detonated by insurgents in Borno.
In the Adamawa incident, most of those killed were attending a wake of one of thw community’s kinsman in the night of Friday.
The herdsmen were said to have stormed the village shot indiscriminately at their targeta and proceeded to set the houses of most of the villagers ablaze.
Police in the area claimed they had not been briefed on what happened.
The village head said the attackers had earlier written to say they were coming to attack the community and that the security àgencies were told but they ignored the alarm thèy had raised.
