Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Rescue Mission symbol, the muffler, is no more attractive to his aides, Armadanews.com has learnt.
One of those who may have yanked it off their neck is the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, an unrepentant follower of the governor and his most trusted ally of more than 25 years.
This newspaper spotted Madumere at the weekend in Owerri without the usual muffler adorning his neck, among others, like a fowl being led to the slaughter house.
All Okorocha’s aides are made to wear the muffler where ever they go to as a symbol of the Rescue Mission. A good number of them lack understanding of the reason for wearing the muffler and may not have bothered to ask.
Apart from Madumere, Armadanews.com also discovered that a former commissioner for information and another aide (names withheld) were also spotted at the Concorde Hotel Owerri on Sunday night without their mufflers on.
The former commissioner who is still one of Okorocha’s aides as well as the other aide were at the place to attend a vital meeting according to them.
“If it is bondage, I take it that I have liberated myself from it. Can’t you see that I no longer have my muffler on,” one of Okorocha’s aides told Armadanews.com.
