Controversial and fiery Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka has said that Governor Rochas Okorocha gave the Catholic Church in Owerri, Imo State a dud cheque of N50 million when the leadership approached him for assistance to rebuild the Owerri Cathedral that was collapsing.
He said the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri, Most Reverend Anthony Obinna was aware of the development and that Okorocha is not a blessing to Imo people.
“When the church leadership approached him for assistance to rebuild her church that was collapsing, Okorocha gave them a cheque of N50 million which later bounced till now. He is not a blessing to Imo people,” Mbaka said, adding that 99.9 per cent of Nigerian governors are criminals.
“I don’t know the kingdom he (Okorocha) came into the world…. Politicians, fear them,” Mbaka added, urging Imo people to ensure that a repeat of Okorocha does not happen to them again in the build up to the 2019 poll.
Curiously, Mbaka was one of those who endorsed Okorocha when he came with the populist mentality. Mbaka also endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and openly canvassed vote for him against former President Goodluck Jonathan.
