President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after a four-day excuse to be absent from office to attend to his health in London.
He returned on Friday, according to Presidency.
“President @MBuhari is back in Abuja. He arrived this evening from London,” the presidency wrote on its Twitter account.
Buhari, 75, had traveled to London on Tuesday, May 8 to see his doctor. His office said he would be away for four days.
No sooner did the president travel than the opposition began to insinuate that Buhari has remained unwell and incapable of governing the country.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had asked him not to present himself again for the office of the president since he was not sure of his health.
Buharo spent five months last year attending to his health challenge.
The president is not prepared to disclose the cause of his illness and maintains he he is fit to run for the presidency of the country again.
Buhari has indicated interest to fly the flag for his All Progressive Congress (APC) party in 2019.
