At last, the Senate has passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill, many months after it was sent to the National Assembly for consideration and passage.
They did on Wednesday during plenary but increased the budget to a total sum of N9.120 trillion, by adding N508 billion to the original N8.612 trillion presented to the NASS by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation explained that after consultation with the Executive, the oil benchmark price was increased from $45 to $51.
He said the additional N508 billion added to the budget was applied in critical sectors of the economy thus: reduction of the deficit, security, health and Power, Works and housing.
