Buhari writes Senate, appoints five non-executive board members for CBN

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate in respect of appointment of five fresh persons as non executive members of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) board.

The president’s letter to the National Assembly was read on Wednesday, May 23.

Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan who disclosed the letter raised the motion in the senate saying: “That the Senate do consider the request of Mr President C-n-C for the confirmation of nomination of the following persons for appointment as non-executive directors of the board of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).”

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio who seconded the motion urged that the Senate considers the request of President Buhari for the confirmation of nomination of the persons  so appointed.

They include: Professor Ummu Ahmed Jalingo (Northeast), Professor Justina Odinakachukwu Nnabuko (Southeast), Professor Mike I. Obadan (South-South), Dr. Abdu Abubakar (Northwest) and Adeola Adetunji (SouthWest).
