…Says No party Favourite, No Party Endorsement.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that its ticket for the 2019 presidential election is open and that contest will be open as no one will be endorsed.
It said on Monday that those flying kite suggesting that some persons had been endorsed or favoured were doing so to discredit the party.
A statement signed by the PDP National Organising Secretary, retired Col Austin Akobundu, said
his attention had been drawn to a publication in one of the dailies claiming that one of the Presidential aspirants of the party has been endorsed by the key leaders of our party.
Akobundu wrote: “Nothing can be farther from the truth and all Nigerians are urged to disregard the publication as it is a fabrication from the imagination of the author even as he tried to make it look authoritative. It is calculated to create confusion.”
Akobundu reminded Nigerians that the Prince Uche Secondus led NWC has repeatedly made it clear that all party congress, would be free, fair, transparent and open.
Akobundu emphasised that a re-branded PDP has no room for impunity and imposition of candidates.
He said that the transparent primaries conducted in Ekiti state last month that produced the PDP flag bearer for the July 14 gubernatorial election, is a testimony to the fact that PDP is determined to pursue rule driven processes.
The NOS assured party members particularly Presidential aspirants and their supporters that the contest would be open and transparent and Nigerians will be happy at the outcome.
