Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday sign into law the 2018 Appropriation Bill passed a fortnight ago by the National Assembly.
Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina had said last week that the Budget will be signed into law this week.
Information and culture minister, Lai Mohammed gave the date for the signing to be on Wednesday.
Mohammed spoke in London last week.
Meanwhile, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will not hold on Wednesday, partly because the president wants to sigh the budget and more because the ministers were too carried away by enjoyment during the Muslim holidays that thy could not prepare the papers for tomorrow’s meeting. This is not the first time the FEC meeting is being moved because the ministers were involved in public holidays.
“This is due to the Eid-el-Fitr holidays last Friday and yesterday, which affected preparation of Council memoranda,” the presidency said on Tuesday regarding the postponed FEC meeting.
