About seven people were feared dead after a boat capsized in Lagos on Wednesday evening. The number could be more.
While an eyewitness said that the boat was coming from CMS to Ikorodu and that five persons died, another source said the number was seven.
Many others were said to have been saved, but the number of passengers on board was not known.
The cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained.
But both sources said the bodies of the victims were brought to the jetty at Ipakodo and taken to the General Hospital in Ikorodu by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).
Officials of Lagos State Government who confirmed the tragic incident said the figure was conflicting. “We will need to cross-check the figure,” the official said.
