Akpabio resigns as Senate minority leader

Senator Godswill Akpabio has resigned his position as the PDP senate minority leader.

He did in a letter of resignation he sent in effective August 4.

He thanked all his colleagues and especially the PDP for the opportunity to serve and wished the party well.

Akpabio is on his way to joining the ruling All Progressive Congress.

He is expected to defect formally on Wednesday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Apkabio’s letter was addressed to the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and copied all the principal officers of the senate, including senate President Bukola Saraki.
