Abdulahi, a media editor and former Minister of Youth Development and Sports and a staunch lackey of Senate President Bukola Saraki resigned his office in APC and also defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) immediately his political godfather (Saraki) defected.
When the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole was boasting that they will not allow Saraki impose his stooge on Kwara, he was referring to Abdullahi.
Abdullahi’s entry into the governorship race for Kwara governor will set off what promises to be a tumultuous five months as he challenges the ruling APC candidate.
He would be joining forces with Saraki and the outgoing Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to make a ;point in the state believed to be in the firm control of the Saraki political dynasty come next year.
This is the first time Abdullahi will be running for elective office since Saraki brought him into politics.
