Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He’s accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper.”

The above was how celebrity journalist, and Ovation International Publisher, Dele Momodu captured in a Twitter message he sent on Tuesday regarding latest information on Lagos politics.

According to Momodu,  billionaire Forte Oil Chairman, Femi Otedola, has accepted to throw his hat in the ring for the Lagos State governorship election in 2019.

Otedola is good to run on the platform of the major opposition – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In May this year when rumour was out that Otedola was eyeing Governor Akuibnwunmi Ambode’s position, he had denied it all, saying politics is not it for him now.

“My attention has been drawn to a news piece where false information from a parody account was posted. I am a man of the people and I will always be on the side of the masses but I am stating clearly via this medium that I am not running for office,” Otedola had responded in May on his twitter handle.

But Armadanews.com learnt that there has been so much pressure on Otedola from his associates in politics and business asking him to take a shot at the office of governor, with pledge of their support to him.

Until now, most of the possible PDP contestants were not interested in the race, apparently because of the firm grip former Governor, Bola Tinubu was having in the state based on his deep pocket.

One of the conditions Otedola gave was that no other person will signal interest in the position if he comes out because of the political millage being the sole aspirant and eventually candidate would give him and his party.
