President Muhammadu Buhari and other religious leaders gathered in Abuja on Saturday to seek ways of maintaining harmony among different faith groups in Nigeria.
Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Catholic Bishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaikan, Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar II, former heads of state, Yakubu Gowon and Abdulasalami Abubakar were among the important dignatories who graced the summit.
Buhari reiterated the need for Nigerians to live together and the role of the religious leaders in ensuring that they live in harmony.
Buhari regretted that Nigerians use religion to create disharmony both in political, social and economic issues.
He solicited the buy-in of the religious leaders in ensuring that peace amd harmony are maintained as Nigeria goes for election in 2019.
