The federal government of Nigeria has again pledged commitment to the release of Dapchi School girl, Leah Sharibu still in captivity of Boko Haram.
A delegation of the federal government was in Yobe state on Saturday to reassure the mother of the girl that the government has not abandoned Leah.
Led by information and culture minister, Lai Mohammed, the federal government maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari was not taking the continuing incerceration of Leah for granted and is determined to ensure her freedom and those of the aid workers as soon as possible.
Leah’s mother had recently gone to plead with Buhari not to allow the daughter killed as the abductors threatened to do so unless she renounces her faith.
Leah, a Christian, refused to convert to Islam on abduction and so was denied freedom.
