The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rita Maduagwu, has been impeached.
In her place, Ikem Uzozie was appointed the new speaker of the house.
She was impeached by 20 out of 30 members of the House on Tuesday, November 13.
The motion for her impeachment was moved by Ikem Uzozie (Aguata II constituency) and was seconded by Onyebuchi Offor (Ekwusigo constituency).
Maduagwu was accused by her colleagues of financial impropriety, gross misconduct and sundry allegations.
