Accounts of Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party have been frozen.
Agencies of the ruling All Progressive Congress have been fingered in the act with Obi’s party saying it was an attempt to undermine his electioneering.
Obi’s media aide, Valentine Obienyen confirmed the development on his Facebook page on Saturday.
The PDP national spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan also confirmed that the APC government security agencies have frozen Obi’s accounts and those of his wife and children.
The PDP in a statement on Saturday wondered why the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari government were jittery about Obi whose integrity, frugality and sense of discipline in all aspects have been acknowledged by Nigerians.
Obienyen said those after his principal are on a wide goose chase as they will be disappointed.
The PDP urged Nigerians to stick with Obi and the presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, noting that they are game for the efforts in place to send Buhari and jis group out of Aso Rock for failing Nigerians.
