Donald Duke, former Governor of Cross River state and embattled presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party has insisted he is still the presidential candidate and that he won the primary fair and square.
Duke said on Saturday via his Twitter account that he will appeal the Friday ruling of a federal high court that said Prof. Jerry Gana, rather than Duke shiuld fly the SDP flag in the February 2019 presidential election.
Duke said the court decision was nothing but a microcosm of the larger problem facing Nigeria, and the reason his candidacy is being questioned.
He said ge won the SDP primary in his merit and not based in where he comes from or any political godfather.
Gana had approached the court to declare him the rightful person to represent the SDP in the election as the presidential candidate and on Friday the court dropped Duke for Gana.
Duke said he is headed for appeal.
