Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State has presented N852.317 billion 2019 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly for approval.
The 2019 budget is N287.68 billion lesser than what was budgeted in 2018 – N1.04 trillion.
The non presentation of the budget proposal has been a subject of misunderstanding between the governor and the lawmakers, resulting to threat to impeach Ambode.
The Governing Advisory Council had intervened on Sunday to save the face-off between the executive led by Ambode and the legislature led by Mudashiru Obasa.
The Assembly members accused Ambode of spending money not approved by the lawmakers.
The appropriation bill was expected to be laid before the Assembly in December 2018.
