Buhari takes campaign to Adamawa, Taraba states

President Muhammadu Buhari has taken his re-election campaign to Adamawa and Taraba States.

 

The President arrived at the Yola International Airport on Thursday where he was received by the state governor, Mohammed Jibrilla and members of  the party’s National and State Working Committee.

 

During his campaign, he visited the Lamido of Adamawa to pay homage and afterwards join the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Ribadu Square where he told them his government has done well in the area of security.

 

The Taraba campaign was held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium.

 

Three persons were reportedly killed in a stampede during  Buhari’s campaign in Taraba State, according to Channels Television report.

 

The bodies of the deceased were  deposited at the state specialist hospital in Jalingo, while the injured are currently receiving treatment.

 

Buhari arrived at the state on Thursday for the Presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

APC Mourns Death of Supporters in Jalingo

MKeanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) mourns the death of some supporters following a stampede at re-election campaign rally for Buhari held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in the Taraba State capital, Jalingo.

In a statement on Thursday after the stamped, the APC said: “Our great party is deeply pained by this painful loss. We pray for the dearly departed and express our deep condolences to their family members, loved ones and the good people of Taraba State.

“We also pray for the speedy and full recovery of our dear supporters who suffered injuries in the sad incident caused by overcrowding.

“Going forward, we will ensure that improved crowd control measures are put in place to as much as possible prevent a reoccurrence this sad incident.”
