INEC postpones presidential result collation exercise to Monday

The Independent National Electoral Commission has moved the collation of results on the presidential election to Monday, February 24.

The Commission inaugurated the National Election Collation Centre on Sunday.

Stakeholders across political parties, particularly the party agents witnessed thw inauguration.

Chairman of the INEC, Mahmood Yakubu said while addressing newsmen earlier in Abuja that some of the results were ready. He said the Ekiti State presidential election for instance was ready and many others undergoing collation.

Yakubu said many of the State Resident Electoral Commissioners were neing awaited with their results that were ready.

But after the inauguration Yakubu moved the announcement to 11 am on Monday, citing that most of the RECs were yet to get to Abuja.

Meanwhile, some of the results of the senatorial candidates and members of the house of representatives have neen announced at the state levels.
