President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the presidential election conducted on Saturday, February 23 in Lagos State.
Buhari got a total of 580,814 votes to beat Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 448,016 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yaba area of Lagos announced the latest results on Monday afternoon.
Buhari won in 15 local government areas of Lagos while Atiku won in five LGAs heavily populated by South East residents.
Buhari defeated his rival, Atiku with a 132,798 vote margin, a little less than the 160,143 votes with which he defeated Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 when he scored 792,460 votes as against Jonathan’s 632,327.
