Former Senate Minority Leader and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio has lost his reelection bid.
Akpabio, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district, secured 67, 487 as against 136, 373 votes polled by Chris Ekpenyong, former deputy governor of the state and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
It has been jubilation in parts of Uyo and Abuja since the report broke that Akpabio lost his reelection.
Those jubilating over the loss said the former governor played God and that God has shown him that takes people up and brings them down.
