Tambuwal wins Sokoto, Ortom Benue in rerun poll

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has been reelected governor in a keenly contested supplementary election on Saturday March 23.

Tambuwal defeated his closest rivalry with less than 400 votes to be declared winner.

Also in Benue State Samuel Ortom was reelected governor.

Ortom also beat the candidate of the All Progressive Congress who is his closest rivalry with 434, 473 votes to be declared  winner of the supplementary poll on Saturday March 23.

Emmanuel Jime, candidate of the APC scored 345, 185 votes, according to the Returning Officer for Benue State Maimako Sebastian.

Both Tambuwal and Ortom contested on the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party.
