Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State  has appointed and inaugurated a 20-man transition committee to ensure a smooth transition of power from his administration to the incoming one.

 

Ambode is expected to hand over power to the governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, come May 29.

 

The committee members were also inaugurated on Tuesday.

 

Tunji Bello, Secretary to the State Government, represented Ambode at the inauguration which was held in Ikeja.

 

Bello is also a co-chairman of the committee like the deputy governor-elect, Obafemi Hamzat.

 

Ambode said the committee was set up to maintain stability and build on the state’s status in ensuring smooth transition of power.

 

Hamzat, assured that the handover would be seamless.

 

Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Lagos State Head of Service,  in his welcome address described the transition as the outcome of the ruling party’s success in the 2019 elections.
