Effective at the close of business today, Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the United States Mission to Nigeria is indefinitely suspending the “Dropbox” process.

The waiver which many applicants used to enjoy has therefore been stopped going by the directive from the U.S Consular’s office in Nigeria.

Consequently, all applicants in Nigeria seeking a non immigrant visa to the United States must apply online, and will be required to appear in-person at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or U.S. Consulate General in Lagos to submit their application for review.

This may be connected to the moves by President Donald Trump to ensure that the number of persons entering into the United States is not compromised through the country’s immigration laws.
