The immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has described his father as his role model who taught him everything about life, especially.
Madumere made the revelation while celebrating his father, His Royal Highness, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere who is celebrating 87.
In his explanation, he said that while growing up, his itinerant father made impression and impacted so much on him in the area of human relations and enterprise.
He said that his service orientation and love for history came from his father, who would always draw comparisons from the gains and mistakes of the past.
“I have a father who gave me a wonderful head start in life. He was an itinerant contractor who traveled round this country in search for jobs and all that. He would always travel with me. I was very close to him. In community development, nothing ever mattered to him more than the welfare and peace of our people. Other things most people do not know about my dad is that he cherishes relationship. This is why he never joked with those close to him. It runs from the family, then extended same to others.”
He also revealed that HRH Madumere loves music, revealing that what first took him round Nigeria was his love for music and as a member of Anglican choir. “My father was one of the best choristers I have ever known. As a youngster, he was a member of Anglican choir that toured round the country in worship to God.”
He wished his father a glorious birthday while praying God to grant him many more years with good health, saying that his wisdom and experience have continued to count in some of his engagements.
