Nigerians living in South Africa and desirous of returning home in the face of xenophobic attacks on them by South Africans have been assured of free airlifting.
Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s leading airline has written to the federal ministry of foreign affairs to evacuate interested Nigerians in South Africa free of charge.
A document obtained by Armadanews.com on Wednesday signed by Ferdinand Nwonye from the ministry of foreign affairs said Allen Onyema, chief executive officer of the airline wrote to the minister, Geoffrey Onyeama on that.
Onyema was said to be disturbed by the ordeal Nigerians are subjected to in South Africa by the indigenes and decided to bring respite their way.
President Muhammadu Buhari had recalled the Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa Kabiru Bala.
Buhari also stopped his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo from attending the World Economic Forum conference holding in South Africa between September 4 and 6.
Onyeama told reporters in Abuja after a meeting with Buhari that a red line had neen drawn between the two countries.
