The presidential election tribunal in Abuja has ruled that the security agencies believed to have aided in electoral malpractices during the 2019 election were wrongly accused.
In striking out the application made by the petitioners that there was substantial collaboration of security agencies in undermining the electoral process, the tribunal ruled there was no evidence to link them to the crime and so struck it out.
Earlier the tribunal had struck out the Independent National Electoral Commission application to strike out the petition of the People’s Democratic Party as lacking in merit and cannot be substantiated.
The tribunal struck out the application and said the PDP had the right to challenge the election.
