The Department of State Services has said that convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore stage-managed the assault he was linked to in court room on Friday, December 6.
The DSS said as responsible agency with regard to the judiciary and rule of law its officials could not have gone to the çourt room to forcefully arrest a person with the judge seated.
Peter Afunnanya, DSS spokesman said in a statement on Saturday, December 7, that Sowore stage-managed the action to smear the agency’s image for propaganda sake.
But the National Human Rights Commission has frowned at the invasion calling for the prosecution of the DSS officials involved if confirmed.
The NHRC chairman Tony Ojukwu said the invasion was not only an embarrassment to the counrty but a desecration of the sanctity of the court in particular and the judiciary as a whole.
Even though Afunnanya tried to dissociate the DSS officials from the shameful act, he was silent on the eventual forceful rearrest of Sowore after the court drama by hia men.
