President Donald Trump of the United States of America has been impeached by members of the state’s House of Representatives.
They did on Wednesday, after dinding Trump culpable of official crimes and misdemeanour which they said undermined the tenets of the U.S. democracy and security.
Though the Reps votes mainly on party lines -230/197 and 229/198- on the two articles of impeachement considered, they nonetheless found Trump mot worthy to occupy tje exalted position and office of the President.
The members also found it unbelievable that Trump was using his office to pressure Ukraine to cause investigation into the activities of his political opponents while also not being unmindful of the security implications to the U.S. and democracy.
The decision of the Reps will now move to the Senate next month which members will either corroborate the impeachement or differ.
If the U.S. Senate votes in favour of the decision of the lower House Trump will be removed as President and will ne the third in the history of the country to suffer such shame.
Nancy Pelosi, the U.S. House of Representatives speaker said Trump did not leave them with choices based on the findings over his activities.
