FG Begins Investigation into Treasury House Fire

The federal government has commenced investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire that gutted the Treasury House, which is the office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).

Sources said the fire started at about 10:00am from the office of the Assistant Director, Capital, located on the fourth floor of the five-storey building.

It was gathered that men of the Federal Fire Service and officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, who were immediately alerted succeeded in putting out the fire.

The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Bala Ciroma, who briefed journalists at the scene of the incident, said an investigation into the cause of the fire would commence immediately.

Also, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba, confirmed that the started in an office on the one of the floors of the building.
