A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide, is dead.
The legal luminary, reportedly died in the early hours of today. He was certified dead at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, where his family members had taken him to.
Aged 89, Pa Akinjide, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) served as Education Minister in the first republic.
He was the Attorney General and Minister of Justice in the Second Republic administration of Shehu Shagari.
An ardent supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan administration, which appointed his daughter, Olajumoke the Minister of State for FCT, Pa Akinjide was at the 2005 National Political Reform Conference (NPRC) and served in the Committee and Models and Structure of Government. He was from Oyo State.
