The main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has again called for resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari citing heightened insecurity and cases of corruption in the federal agencies.

PDP’s National chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, who made the call at a press briefing in Abuja, said the ongoing corruption investigations of the EFCC, NDDC, MIC, NEDC, NSITF, among others, was an indication that corruption has become a norm under President Buhari’s watch.

The opposition party said Buhari has since reneged on his campaign promises in 2015 and 2019 promised to fight corruption and fix the pervading insecurity in the country.

Secondus noted at the press briefing tagged, ‘Nigeria a free fall as corruption, Insecurity engulfs our nation’, that it had become evident that the ruling APC government has run out of propaganda with regards to the worsening insecurity in the country.

According to him, the recent decision of over 300 soldiers to quit the Army and the call by the National Assembly for resignation of the service chiefs exposed Buhari government’s incompetence.

He said: “What we are witnessing in our country today is a total collapse of the nation, the country is on ventilator gasping for air, under such circumstance. President Buhari should do the honourable thing required of an elder statesman and throw in the towel.”
