The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, on Thursday said a total of 684 Nigerians evacuated from abroad in the wake of the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic tested positive for the virus.
Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SFG), said the 684 evacuees were part of the 13,844 tested so far.
The SGF, who disclosed this at a media briefing by the COVID-19 task force, noted that more evacuees would be tested in the coming days.
He said the Federal Government of Nigeria was studying the coronavirus vaccine approved by Russia on recently, pointing out that the fewer numbers of confirmed cases recorded in the last two weeks should never be misconstrued as victory over the virus. He said no death was recorded in Nigeria for August 12.
