Scores of persons were reportedly  following a bloody clash on Sunday in Enugu State between security agents and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The violent clashes disrupted church activities and threw the whole Emene and environs into chaos as people scampered for safety.

It was gathered that trouble started on Sunday morning when security operatives invaded St Patrick’s Community School compound, along the old Abakaliki where the IPOB members were meeting.

Attempt by the combined team of operatives to disperse the group and forcefully arrest some of their members, turned violent, resulting in casualties from both sides.

An eye witness noted that the IPOB members had attempted to gain entry into the police station to free their members that were arrested, but met with stiff resistance by heavily armed security operatives, who used live ammunition and teargas on them.

The IPOB members armed with cutlasses, were said to have retaliated, leaving casualties on both sides.
