The former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, who fled Nigeria after he was granted bail, has been extradited to face his ongoing money laundering trial.
Maina, who was arrested in Niger Republic, after he was declared wanted by an Abuja High Court, was brought back to Nigeria on Thursday afternoon.
He was received by officials of the Nigeria Police at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, who later took him away.
Maina is standing trial for alleged money laundering to the tune of N2 billion.
The Commissioner of Police in charge of Interpol told journalists that Maina was brought back to Nigeria on the directive of the IGP, Mohammed Adamu.
