Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on Thursday said Sir Frank Ibezim remains the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the Imo North Senatorial election that holds in Saturday, December 5.
He therefore urged the Okigwe people to vote massively for Ibezim as a vote for the candidate is a vote for the APC.
He said the era of selfish politicking in Imo when some people think they are above the people is gone for ever.
Speaking at the Okigwe Stadium on Thursday during the grand finale of the APC campaign, the Governor noted that Ibezim will have the interest of the people at heart more than any other person or political party outside the APC.
Governor Uzodimma told the people not to be distracted by the court case where Senator Araraume was said to have been substituted for Ibezim, saying the party remains supreme and will determine who flies its ticket in every election.
The governor said Ibezim was a product of a properly conducted primary that was supervised by the APC at the centre and that no amount of blackmail and court rigmarole will stop laid down processes and rules of the party.
The governor therefore called on Okigwe people to vote massively for Ibezim and to ensure they protect their votes after voting so as to guard against manipulation by desperate politicians.
the rally was well attended by APC members from across the state and others who came to witness the exercise.
