Boko Haram, on Thursday released a video showing some schoolboys believed to be the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.

About 333 students were declared missing by the Katsina State Government after gunmen attacked the school last week.

The Boko Haram terrorist group has since claimed responsibility for their abduction.

In the footage, one of the kidnapped schoolboys was pleading for the scrapping of vigilante groups in Katsina as well as the closure of all schools excluding Islamiyyah (Qur’anic schools).

The schoolboy also pleaded with the federal government not to use military force in rescuing them but rather settle amicably with their abductors.

“Please, you have to dissolve any gang of vigilantes, close any kind of schools, excluding Islamiyyah (Qur’anic schools). All the troops who have come here to help us, please send them back,” one of the abducted schoolboys pleaded in the released video. A voice believed to be from one of the abductors was heard in the background saying that all the students are healthy and safe.
