The 42 persons including 27 students, staff and their family members abducted by bandits in Government Science College Kagara, Niger State, 10 days ago, have been released.
An aide to Governor Abubakar Bello, who confirmed their release, said they were on their way to Minna, the state capital, where Governor Abubakar Bello was waiting to receive them at the Government House.
They were abducted on February 17 by gunmen, wearing military fatigues, who stormed the school at around 2am on that Wednesday morning. One student was killed during the abduction.
