A judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Justice Obiora Egwuatu has ordered the Department of State Service (DSS) to produce Sunday Igboho’s aides in court on July 29th.
Igboho’s 12 aides, who were arrested at his residencehave been in the custody of DSS since July 2, 2021.
Their case is expected to proceed notwithstanding the annual court vacation slated to begin on July 26.
The detainees, had through their counsel, Pelumi Olajenbasi sued the DSS before the Federal High Court Abuja, on grounds that their fundamental human rights had been infringed.
They are praying the court to compel the DSS to produce them before the court and to show why they shouldn’t be granted bail in accordance with the provision of section 32 of the criminal justice act 2015.
Their counsel had informed the court that his clients have remained underground for the past 20 days, and were denied freedom.
He noted that they are Nigerian citizens and have inherent rights, just like others.
