UPDATED: Four Confirmed Killed in Ikoyi, Lagos Building Collapse

Four persons have been confirmed killed after a high-rise building under construction collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the casualty figure, adding four others were rescued alive.

A 21- floor building in Ikoyi, a highbrow area of Lagos, on Monday collapsed with many feared trapped under the rubble.

“Four people had been rescued so far and four bodies recovered from the site”, said Ibrahim Farinloye, an official of NEMA.

“We are also trying to bring in the military to assist in crowd control,” he added.

Among the early callers at the scene, were the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos State Commissioner for Special Duties & Intergovernmental Relations, it’s counterpart, Hon. Comm for Physical Planning and the DG LASEMA.
