Division, Factionalism ‘ll Not be Tolerated in APC under my Watch, Ebere Warns LGA Chairmen

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  Imo State chapter, Hon. Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, has advised the newly elected local government areas chairmen of the party to shun divisive tendencies and factionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities, warning them that unhealthy political actions would not be tolerated in the party under his leadership.

Ebere, who made this known in the maiden State Executive Committee meeting held at the Okigwe road secretariat of the party reiterated his commitment to building APC in the state into a stronger, vibrant and popular political party that would appeal and attract the unconditional following of the greater percentage of Imo electorate.

In commending the governor of the state and the leader of the party, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for his examplary leadership dexterity and unparalleled commitment to the policy thrust of his administration as encapsulated under the shared prosperity mentra of recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction, which according to the chairman has manifested in the various people oriented projects such as visible infrastructural development, urban renewal, etc he urged the chairmen to be good ambassadors of 3R administration of the governor.

He further challenged the chairmen to key into his strategic action plan for the party which requires unity and collectivism as the bedrock for party building. According to the chairman “We are party managers, don’t divide the party for me, it is not in the interest of the governor or the leadership of the party for you to factionalize this party. We will not take it lightly with any LGA chairman found wanting in this regard”. 

Ebere who harped on the need for synergy and collaboration amongst officers at all levels, appealed to them to always take advantage of the internal feedback mechanism of the party to get clarification in any issues where necessary. 

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the chairman of Owerri Municipal Council and chairman of LGA chairmen, Hon. Ibeziem thanked the state chairman for his examplary leadership disposition and the new spirit his emergence has injected into the party. He however promised on behalf of his colleagues to  give good account of themselves in their respective local government areas.
