The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained the Managing Director of Medview Airline, Muneer Bankole, over alleged diversion of $900,000 released for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.
Bankole allegedly received the funds from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in 2019 as mobilisation, but allegedly failed to execute the contract.
He was reportedly invited by the anti-graft agency and arrived at the commission’s office at about 11 am on Monday.
The spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development to newsmen.
