The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a one-month comprehensive and total” strike to press home its demands from the federal government.
The decision was reached after series of deliberations that lasted till early hours of Monday. The four- weeks warning strike takes effect from today, February 14, 2022.
Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, President of ASUU confirmed the development to journalists on Monday in Lagos after the National Executive Council(NEC) meeting of the union tagged ‘NEC for NEC.’
ASUU has been agitating for a number of demands including but not limited to the payment of Earned Academic Allowance, revitalization fund, the replacement of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, with the University Transparency and Accountability System UTAS.
