The All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State chapter, has described as a hoax, the report on various electronic, print and new media platforms credited to one Mr. Michael Anyanwu acting on behalf of Dan Nwafor, claiming authenticity as the State Chairman of the party in the state.
In a statement, Friday, Cajetan Duke, State Publicity Secretary of APC, Imo State, said the false claim “is no where near the position of the Supreme Court, except as a figment of the imagination of mischief makers.”

PRESS RELEASE
THE PURPORTED SUPREME COURT ORDER AGAINST IMO APC- A HOAX. DAN NWAFOR, A NOTORIOUS AGENT OF POLITICAL DISTRACTION
The attention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter ably led by Hon Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, PhD KSJI, has been drawn to another mischievous report on various electronic, print and new media platforms credited to one Mr. Michael Anyanwu acting on behalf of Dan Nwafor of the Rochas family, claiming authenticity as the State Chairman of our party in the state.
Ordinarily, we would have ignored the said false claims, as it is no where near the position of the Supreme Court, except as a figment of the imagination of mischief makers. But for the purpose of clarity and the benefit of unsuspecting members of the public, particularly our party faithful, we wish to state as follows:
1. We confirm that there is a court case pending before the Supreme Court between the National leadership of our party and the dissolved rag-tag led by Nwafor as composed by Rochas Okorocha ahead his ill-fated 2019 gubernatorial self succession bid through the proxy of his son-in-law.
2. That contrary to the claims of Dan Nwofor and his co-travellers, what traspired on the last adjourned date was the adoption of briefs of arguments by parties to the suit, after which the matter was adjourned to May 27, 2022 for judgement.
3. That it is mischievous, embarrassing and utterly disgusting for Dan Nwofor and his agents of distraction to import in the day’s proceeding statements that are not only fallacious, incoherent, mendacious, but calculated to mislead the public to wit by asserting that the court made an interim order recognizing him (Nwafor) and his non existing group as officers of the part in the state.
4. It is important to state once again without any equivocation or fear of contradiction that there is only one recognized and legally constituted State Executive Committee of APC in Imo State, under the chairmanship of Hon. Macdonald Ebere, elected and duly inuagurated in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution (2014) as amended.
5. Finally, it is our advise that Dan Nwafor and co should desist from making themselves cheaply available for mischievous political enterprise in the hands of a man whose political notoriety is legendary. While we urge the general public and esteemed party faithful to disregard the misleading narratives of Dan Nwafor.
Signed:
Cajetan Duke, State Publicity Secretary
APC, Imo State.
