It has emerged that the UK Embassy issued the visa for medical trip to one Ukpo Nwamini David for medical investigations for a Kidney donation to Ms. Sonia Ekweremadu, the daughter of Nigeria’s former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
In the medical visa application dated December 28, 2021 to the British High Commission, Abuja, Senator Ekweremadu had notified the UK authorities that David (donor) and Sonia would be at the Royal Free Hospital, London, where the medical investigations would be carried out.
But the Senator and his wife, Beatrice, were arrested on arrival to London and arraigned in a UK Magistrate’s Court on alleged trafficking of a homeless child into the UK in order to harvest his organs.
They both pleaded not guilty and were remanded into custody ahead of their hearing next month, July 7 in Uxbridge.
