The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has solicited the support of the police in Lagos in stemming the menace of electricity equipment vandals in its franchise areas.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of EDr. Tinuade Sanda, made the appeal during courtesy visits to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (Zone 2), Bode Adeyinka Adeleke; and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, last week.

Sanda also appealed to the Police to help in checking the rising incidents of assaults of staff of the electricity distribution company.

General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, Godwin Idemudia, said in a statement that the visit was in continuation of the interaction with key stakeholders in the Disco’s network since the appointment of Sanda as the new MD/CEO of the electricity distribution company.

The CEO commended the police chiefs for their efforts in keeping Lagos safe.

Responding, the Lagos state CP thanked the Eko Disco’s MD/CEO and her team for the visit and pledged that the Command will do its best to protect the assets of EKEDC.

He stated that his team will work with the Disco in identifying the areas where these illicit acts are happening with a view to bringing the culprits to book. Similarly, the AIG appreciated the Eko DisCo team for the visit, and assured the MD/CEO that urgent steps would be taking to address the identified issues.
